Visit to National Museum (April 28, 2017)


Students of classes 3, 4 and 5 (PRIMUS) visited National Museum on Friday, April 28, 2017.

 It is situated in a three storied building. The first floor is connected with the affairs of India. Second floor relates to the international field and third floor is devoted to the achievements of Indian states, in different fields. 



On the First Floor, the excavated things of Mohen-jo-daro and Harappa were also kept there. To depict the culture of Harappa and Mohen-jo-daro there were tools, earthen pots, ornaments and other important items. There were also the remains of old and new Stone Age.
On the Second Floor there were paintings of the past. There were paintings of Rama, Laxman and Sita, Krishna with his Gopikas, Yashodhara etc There were paint­ings belonging to Mughal period and manu­scripts of Mahabharat, the Bhagwat Puran, the Quran etc. There were items from Britain, U.S.A., U.S.S.R., Germany etc.
On the next floor achievements of states like Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Punjab, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh were displayed. 
The visit was a great source of information and knowledge for the children. It gave them an opportunity to learn about our glorious past, customs and traditions, contributions of our ancestors in the field of science, technology, art and literature and too feel pride in INDIA- OUR MOTHERLAND.
