Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September.
The theme for 2017 is “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All.”
The theme honours the spirit of TOGETHER, a global initiative that promotes respect, safety and dignity for everyone forced to flee their homes in search of a better life.
To mark this day, students of class 4 (PRIMUS) participated in an activity- LINE UP FOR PEACE.In this activity, the students lined up quietly according to the given instructions of the teacher. For example, according to their roll numbers, height wise, according to the month and date of their birth and so on. to make the activity more challenging, they were asked to line up to the count of 5 or 10.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and for some it was quite a challenge to keep their mouth shut through out the activity.
After the activity a discussion was held on how silence and solitude give us the space to think, act, and play "catch up" with our mind, and can be very healthy for our physical and mental well being.
