Welcome back to school

"Dear students, the summer has ended.

The school year at last has begun.
But this year is totally different.I promise we'll only have fun.

"We won't study any mathematics,
and recess will last all day long.
Instead of the pledge of allegiance,
we'll belt out a rock-and-roll song.

"We'll only play games in the classroom.
You're welcome to bring in your toys.
It's okay to run in the hallways.
It's great if you make lots of noise.

"For homework, you'll play your Nintendo.
You'll have to watch lots of T.V.
For field trips we'll go to the movies
and get lots of candy for free.

"The lunch room will only serve chocolate
and triple fudge sundaes supreme."
Yes, that's what I heard from my teacher
before I woke up from my dream.

                 FIRST INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY (21.6.15)

June 21 was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014. Yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice having its origin over 6000 years ago in India, aims to integrate the body and the mind.
The declaration of this day came after the call for the adoption of 21 June as International Day of Yoga by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014 wherein he stated:
"Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness within yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day."
This initiative found support from many global leaders. At first, the Prime Minister of Nepal Sushil Koirala supported the proposal of Modi. More than 177 countries including USACanadaChina and Egypt have supported this move, including 175 nations co-sponsoring the resolution.
Our school is participating in this Mega Event with the motto ' Yoga for Health and Peace' which will be held at Rajpath from 7am on the same day.
The event will see participation from more than 37,000 people including government officials, NCC Cadets, school children, media personalities and others. The 36 minutes programme will find a place in Guiness World Records.

1) Take smaller, frequent shopping trips and make a list of things you need to buy beforehand.
2) Try to use whole of fruits and vegetables, including skins.
3) Be aware of terms like sell by date, expiry date, use by date and shelf life etc.
4) Finish the leftovers by using them in different dishes/ recipes.
