Special Assembly - Gandhi Jayanti (4.10.17)

Assemblies are an important feature of School’s routine. They also form a significant part of the school’s curriculum. They are a means to create a positive, reflective ethos and promote value-based education. They powerfully nurture the development of intrapersonal intelligence.
In our PRIMUS segment, classes take turns to present on a theme identified for the week. On 4th October 2017, the students of class 4A presented their assembly on the terrace. Their topic was ‘ Gandhi Jayanti’ which was a relevant theme as the country had just celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2017.
The assembly started with Thought of the Day by Paarth and then Suvichar in Hindi by Jatin. Children were updated with news headlines by Devansh Jain. After that Aarav Shokeen delivered a speech on Gandhiji, highlighting the role of Gandhi ji in India's Freedom Movement. Many children do not know that our second prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri was also born on 2nd Oct. This fact was brought to notice of children by Sana and Gauri in their speech on Lal Bahadur Shastri. The assembly came to an end with Jhanvi's poem on Gandhi ji, in which she encouraged children to follow the principles of Gandhi ji, namely Truth, Non Violence and simple living and high thinking.
