Basant Panchami Celebration

Basant Panchami is one of the most popular festivals in India; it is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. It is also called 'Saraswati Puja' in the states of Bihar and West Bengal, where it is celebrated with great enthusiasm on a grand scale. According to the Hindu Calendar, Vasant Panchami falls on the fifth day of the month of Magh, i.e., between January and February.

On Basant Panchami, special ceremonies and pujas are organised in schools and educational institutions. In this context, students of Class 3 expressed their knowledge of the traditional and spiritual aspects of Basant Panchami through prayers and poems.
