VISIT TO METRO MUSEUM - CLASS 3


On Friday, the 16th of October, 2015, students of class III CBSE i visited the Metro Rail Museum at Patel Chowk, New Delhi. The museum is one of its kind, to be situated right in the middle of a working metro station, where hundreds of commuters pass through it everyday.

The museum, a collection of display panels, historical photographs and exhibits, traces the genesis of the Delhi Metro which took 32 years to reach the operational stage from the drawing boards, major milestones, issues regarding the selection of the technology such as rolling stock (trains), rail gauge, etc. 

It also has an extensive section on the construction of the Metro and the problems encountered during the process, including the story behind the construction of technological marvels such as the Chawri Bazaar Metro station, which is the second deepest Metro station in the world, India's first extra-dosed bridge. A model of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), a "tooth" taken from a TBM, soil samples collected from around the city and helmets of different colours used at construction sites form part of the Museum.

READER'S THEATRE - English Activity class IV (Unit 5)

The students of class 4 were shown a scene, 'The land of Candy' from the movie 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.' Afterwards they were divided into groups. Each group created its own script and dialogues to present the scene with the theme,'Land Of Candy.'
The activity helped the children in improving their speaking and creative writing skills.

Visit to Metro Rail Museum on 16.10.15 (Friday)

                  SOUTH ASIA'S FIRST METRO MUSEUM IN NEW DELHI



South Asia's first modern Metro Museum, showcasing the Delhi Metro, in New Delhi, is the only such installation worldwide in an operational Metro station.
Metro Museums can be found in only a few European, US and Japanese cities, but the one at Delhi Metro is the only one of its kind in an operational station (Patel Chowk) set up in a short duration of two months.

Please note :- Visit will be within school timings. Please send your ward in proper school uniform along with I - Card.

MENU CARD - S.St Activity (Class 3, Unit 5 Food)

The students were divided into six groups, under the names of different countries e.g.  India, Indonesia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, China and Japan. Each group prepared a menu card  showing  a variety of food items from the country they had been  asked to represent .

It was followed up with a group discussion on the availability of different food items found in various parts of the world.  
Students concluded:
• That the eating habits differ all around the world.
• Food items can be eaten raw / cooked.
• Food is obtained from animal source / plant source.








Inter house competition- VALUE OF FIRST AID (Class III and IV)





Students of class 3 and 4 (cbse i) participated in Inter House Role Competition on the topic - VALUE OF FIRST AID. After brainstorming different ideas, three participants from each house were selected to participate in the final round.All the participants demonstrated very well on what first aid should be given in different medical emergencies, what precautions should be taken to avoid such emergencies and what all things should be kept in a first-aid box.
